🥊Editor VS Config
Editor pro and cons compared to config
Config vs Editor
The choiche between using the config and editor comes down to how experienced you are and how much you depend on visually thinking and reasoning.
Of course, the in-game (or web) editor is easier to use, shows instant visual feedback to what you are doing. The configs on the other hand, can be way easier to use for bulk tasks and menus.
Listed below are some pros and cons.
| Editor | Configs | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| Pros | Cons | Pros | Cons |
| Visual feedback | Less control | Easy bulk edits | Not YML, but XML (I'm sorry) |
| Faster for routines | Possible steep learning curve | Better overview of a project | Not a single file but a folder full of files |
| Built in pixel art editor | Current design is horrible | Full control over every part | Editor menus are generated and less convient to edit by hand |
Editor on web vs In-game
The ingame editor allows you to instantly make edits, really easy to quickly patch up a visual or routine-based bug. It still runs almost fully client sided (besides zooming), making it feel like the website. Biggest drawback of ingame compared to web, is the lack of good keybinds.
